Construction for Permanent Closure of Palmetto Avenue at U.S. HWY 17 to Start May 2, 2022

City will begin work on the permanent closure of southbound Palmetto Avenue from U.S. HWY 17 to Grove Street on Monday, May 2, 2022.

The work will take about two months to complete. Once finished, southbound Palmetto Ave will be closed at U.S. HWY 17 and will become a one-way street from the McDonald’s drive thru exit to Grove Street. 

Northbound Palmetto Avenue from Grove Street to U.S. HWY 17 will be filled in with sod to expand the area of the City of Green Cove Springs welcome sign.
