English for College and Communication, an intensive program to prepare students to reach the language level necessary for acceptance into State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF), will be offered at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy., Sarasota, Monday through Thursday, Jan. 23-April 20, from 9 a.m.-noon. The English for College and Communication program is specifically designed for those who plan to attend college at SCF; it is a course for beginners and designed specifically as a first step toward achieving the language skills necessary to enroll in a degree-seeking program at SCF. The course is also open for anyone who wants to learn or improve English comprehension. This is an academic skills class that includes homework, tests, and required attendance. A free test of your English comprehension and communication skills is necessary prior to starting the class.
