Manatee County EOC Downgrades Activation Status

0Comments

In the wake of Hurricane Ian, Manatee County officials have downgraded the activation status of the Emergency Operations center (EOC) to a partial activation—maintaining essential recovery and response functions.

“We are continuing to help coordinate post-storm activities,” said Public Safety Deputy Director Steve Litschauer. “This will continue for a long time.”

As the county’s damage assessment teams move into phase two of their work, they have detailed $91 million in residential damages and $15 million in commercial damages in their initial estimates.

Manatee County Information Outreach will continue to notify and inform residents of any new developments regarding Ian as needed. A listing of recovery resources and post-Ian news releases are also available at Manatee Recovers Webpage. Residents can also text ManateeReady to 888-777 for the latest messages from Manatee on emergency activation. They can also call 3-1-1 from any phone in the county for answers and insight on any storm recovery question.
