Manatee County issued the following announcement on Feb. 28.

Here’s an opportunity for you to leave your mark on Manatee County!  Manatee County Government is seeking community input – and creativity – through an online survey to name a brand-new park.

“The newest park in Manatee County could have your name all over it,” said District Four Commissioner Misty Servia.

The property — located just north of Kinnan Elementary School, north of Tallevast Road and west of Prospect Road — will feature some wonderful amenities, including:

  • District 4’s first dog park
  • Pickleball courts with slip-resistant surfaces
  • Fitness trail
  • Preserved natural wetlands
  • ADA-accessible parking
  • Open-activity lawn area
  • Restrooms

Top suggestions will be selected by District Four’s Citizen’s Coalition on Growth and then taken to the Board of County Commissioners who will vote on the final name.

Name nominations will be collected at mymanatee.org/namethatpark through March 31, 2022.
