Community Service Officer Oscar Aguero-Yovera has been recognized as the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office Employee of the Month for January 2026. The recognition comes after his actions during a missing person case on November 2, 2025.

On that day, deputies responded to a report of a missing elderly woman with dementia who had left her home without her family’s knowledge. Multiple deputies arrived in the area to search for her. Community Service Officer Aguero-Yovera joined the search and conducted a foot patrol near a community pool concealed by thick foliage, where he found the missing woman. Deputies then helped him return her safely to her home and reunite her with her family.

The press release states, “Had it not been for CSO Aguero-Yovera’s proactive decision to perform a foot search, the missing woman may have remained unlocated.”

“In acknowledgment of his willingness to act without hesitation, compassion, and dedication, Community Service Officer Oscar Aguero-Yovera is has been named MCSO’s Employee of the Month for January 2026,” according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
