Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1951, Buchanan has been an active political figure and resides in Sarasota.

On May 22, 2025, Buchanan tweeted about the House GOP’s efforts to bolster American manufacturing. He stated that “.@HouseGOP is delivering on our promise to strengthen American manufacturing! Our bill rewards companies that build, create and invest in America.” This tweet highlights the Republican party’s commitment to enhancing domestic industry.

Later that day, he announced the passage of significant legislation by the House GOP. In his words: ” @HouseGOP just passed the ‘One Big, Beautiful Bill’! We’re delivering permanent tax relief, expanding opportunities and ensuring that the American Dream remains within reach for everyone.” This reflects ongoing efforts to provide economic benefits and opportunities for citizens.
