Vern Buchanan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district, recently shared several key initiatives through his social media platform. The tweets focus on education freedom, tax policies affecting tipped workers, and immigration law enforcement.

On January 28, 2025, Buchanan expressed support for a resolution introduced by Rep. Moolenaar to designate a week as “National School Choice Week.” He stated: “Proud to join @RepMoolenaar’s resolution to designate this week as ‘National School Choice Week.’ Florida is leading the way in expanding school choice and putting parents in the driver’s seat of their kids’ education. That’s why we’re ranked number one for education freedom!”

The following day, January 29, he announced his collaboration with Rep. Donalds on a legislative initiative titled the No Tax on Tips Act. Buchanan emphasized its potential benefits for American workers dependent on tipped wages: “My No Tax on Tips Act with @RepDonaldsPress will support hardworking Americans who rely on tipped wages to support their families. Looking forward to working with @realDonaldTrump to make this promise a reality.”

Later that same day, Buchanan acknowledged President Biden’s signing of the Laken Riley Act into law. He remarked on its significance for public safety concerning criminal illegal aliens: “Thank you to @POTUS for signing the Laken Riley Act into law. This crucial new law will help protect innocent Americans like Laken and ensure that dangerous criminal illegal aliens are detained by ICE and kept off our streets.”
