Vern Buchanan, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 16th district, has shared several updates on his legislative and community engagement activities through social media posts. Buchanan has been serving in Congress since 2007, following his tenure in the Florida House of Representatives.

On March 13, 2025, Buchanan highlighted the importance of home health services for seniors both locally and nationally. He stated, “The pandemic taught us that home health services are invaluable for seniors in my district and nationwide.” He also mentioned introducing legislation to ensure patients can receive life-saving drugs at home.

The following day, March 14, he expressed honor in joining the Manatee Community Foundation to celebrate local honorees’ contributions after recent hurricanes. In his words, “Honored to join the Manatee Community Foundation to help celebrate the 2025 Spirit of Manatee honorees.”

Later on March 14, Buchanan discussed healthcare issues with Jonathan Fleece from Empath Health. He noted the significance of Medicare spending on hospice care by stating, “Great to hear from Jonathan Fleece…on ways to better support the millions of American seniors on Medicare who rely on post-acute care services.”
