Vern Buchanan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district, recently shared several updates on his Twitter account. Buchanan, who has been a member of Congress since 2007 after replacing Katherine Harris, has also served in the Florida House of Representatives. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1951 and now residing in Sarasota, Buchanan graduated from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.

In another post on March 3rd, Buchanan celebrated Florida’s 180th birthday by reflecting on his own journey to the state where he pursued business opportunities and raised his family.
