Vern Buchanan, a U.S. Representative for Florida’s 16th district, recently expressed his thoughts on various subjects through a series of tweets. Buchanan, who succeeded Katherine Harris in 2007, continues to serve in Congress. An alumnus of Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy, Buchanan was born in Detroit and now resides in Sarasota.

On April 20, Buchanan extended wishes on Easter through a tweet, stating “Happy Easter Sunday from Sandy and I! Easter is a time to be surrounded by family and loved ones as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. As Matthew 28:6 reads, ‘He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.'”

The following day, April 21, Buchanan conveyed condolences on the passing of Pope Francis. His tweet read, “Pope Francis touched countless lives across every corner of the world. May he rest in peace “

Later that day, Buchanan congratulated Joe Gruters on his new role with President Trump’s Homeland Security Advisory Council. Buchanan noted his long-standing friendship with Gruters, tweeting, “Congratulations to my friend @JoeGruters for his appointment to President Trump’s Homeland Security Advisory Council! I’ve had the honor of knowing Joe for over 20 years and am confident he will help @POTUS and @Sec_Noem Make America Safe Again.”

Vern Buchanan, who has been involved in public service and politics for decades, highlights his career in Congress and his dedication to his constituents through these social media interactions.
