The Lena Road landfill has been closed because of incoming severe weather.
As a result, the City of Bradenton solid waste collections will be delayed by one day.
Thursday’s pickups will be collected on Friday, and Friday’s scheduled pickups will be collected on Saturday.

Detectives from the Manatee Homicide Investigation Unit have concluded that a recent incident at a home in the 8200 block of Pavia Way, Lakewood Ranch, was a double homicide followed by a suicide.
Jose Aguilar has been arrested by the Hardee County Sheriff’s Office and is currently being held at the Hardee County Jail.
