CITY OF HOLMES BEACH: Dredging Project - 63rd St Boat Ramp and 64th Entrance Channel

Application

City of Holmes Beach issued the following announcement.

As part of the City of Holmes Beach’s ongoing improvements, the City will begin a dredging project located at the 63rd St Boat Ramp and 64th Entrance Channel on Monday August 10 and to completed on September 4, 2020.

The 63rd St Boat Ramp will be closed from Thursday August 27, 2020 until Monday September 26, 2020 as part of the City of Holmes Beach’s ongoing waterway improvements. During this time the boat ramp will be utilized as a staging location for the dredging and restoration of the canal and navigation channel.

The primary purpose of this project is to hydraulically dredge and restore approximately 800 linear feet of residential canal and approximately 100 linear feet of navigation channel. As significant shoaling has occurred within these areas impeding navigation, hydraulic dredging will improve local law enforcement/fire rescue vessel emergency response time and boater safety.

The staging locations for the dredging project will include the following sites:

  • The 63rd St Boat Ramp Parking Lot
  • The vacant lot at 65th Street
