State College of Florida Manatee issued the following announcement.
State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) is offering two online courses that prepare students to enter the court reporting field as a digital court reporter or legal transcriber. Both programs are self-paced and 100% online. Students have six months to complete a course from the time they sign up. Visit careertraining.ed2go.com/SCF to register online.
SCF offers both courses in partnership with ed2go, an online education provider. Digital Court Reporter costs $795, and Legal Transcriptionist costs $995. Students who take both will receive a $195 discount.
Court reporting is one of the fastest growing career areas in the legal system. Students who take the Digital Court Reporter and Legal Transcriptionist courses develop the skills necessary to become successful digital reporters and legal transcribers who can work in the field and at home.
Upon completion, students are prepared to pass the Certified Electronic Reporter (CER) and Certified Electronic Transcriber (CET) exams, offered by the American Association of Electronic Reporters and Transcribers (AAERT). AAERT certification vastly improves a student’s marketability when applying for work at freelance agencies or court systems, some of which require the certification by law or because of government contracts.
