State College of Florida Manatee- Sarasota issued the following announcement on July 27.
Tax preparers planning to take the Enrolled Agent exam can register for a 16-week online review course at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF). The course will be held on Wednesdays, Aug. 18-Dec. 15 from 6-9 p.m. online through Microsoft Teams and in person at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Pkwy., Sarasota. The cost is $1,100 and covers course materials; the exam fee is not included. To register, visit SCF.edu/Training, select the link labeled Professional Development on the left-hand side and click Enrolled Agent.
Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards to tax preparers. Like attorneys and certified public accountants, enrolled agents have broad practice rights. This review course mirrors the exam layout and is aimed to prepare students to pass the rigorous three-part exam.
Part 1: Individuals, Aug. 25-Sept. 29.
Part 2: Businesses, Oct. 13-Nov. 24.
Part 3: Representation, taxes and procedures, Dec. 8 and Dec. 15.
