Manatee County issued the following announcement on Aug. 8.
The Florida Department of Health in Manatee County (DOH-Manatee) and Manatee County Government have teamed up to offer an additional location for COVID-19 testing.
The COVID-19 testing site is located at the Bradenton Area Convention Center southwest parking lot, 1 Haben Boulevard in Palmetto. The site operates 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. seven days a week. Testing is free of charge. This is a walk-up operation, no appointment necessary. Visitors are asked to bring proof of Florida residency (driver’s license, utility bill with Florida address, etc.).
“I encourage all Manatee County residents and visitors to stay vigilant because COVID-19 is still prevalent in our community.” said Public Safety Director Jacob Saur. “Now is not the time to let your guard down and it’s more important than ever to continue following CDC guidelines.”
The Department of Health Manatee will continue to run their other testing and vaccine site at the Palmetto bus station on weekdays from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
