Welcome Back, Seahawks! – Here’s A Full List Of What To Expect On Campus This Fall

12

Broward College recently issued the following announcement.

Broward College is excited to offer new and returning students expanded campus on-campus classes and services for the fall semester. Students can choose from six class modalities, including remote learning, online, on-campus, or blended options. In-person services are also available, and Student Life will resume on-campus programming.

Let's take a look at what you will find if you are on campus this fall.

In-person services

Admissions, Financial Aid, and Advising are now offering both on-campus and online services for students. For on-campus assistance, the offices are open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For virtual services, you can join Qless Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The International Student Services Office (ISSO) is also open. Located on the A. Hugh Adams Central Campus, in Building 27, students can visit the office in person Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Academic Resources

The Academic Success Centers (ASC) and Libraries are open and offering in-person services. The ASCs provide tutoring, access to computer labs, study group sessions, Math boot camps, and other workshop services. Some locations are open seven days a week. You can check the hours of operation for the ASC and library on each campus here.

The Financial Assistance

If you are enrolled for classes this fall, you may qualify for up $2,000 for personal expenses, including but not limited to books, food, and rent. Make sure you apply. Awards are granted according to financial need, and funds are limited.

Student Support and Resources

Understanding the hardship somr students may be facing due to the lasting economic impact of the pandemic, the College is providing as much support as possible.

Food and Hygiene

The Food and Hygiene Distribution drive-through program will continue to operate, rotating the three main campuses each week. You must fill out the request form to participate in the distribution event. Additionally, the first food pantry will open this semester on the A. Hugh Adams Central campus. The pantry will be accessible to students daily.

Transporation

The College has also partnered with Lyft to provide free rides to and from campus to eligible students facing transportation challenges. Codes are limited per semester, and they are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must apply here.

Child Care

Attending classes on-campus may prove difficult for student-parents who may struggle to find affordable childcare. Through the Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) grant, students who qualify and apply may receive financial assistance when they enroll their children with selected, accredited child care facilities located throughout Broward Country.

Student Life Programming

Perhaps the most exciting part of being on campus is the opportunity to meet up with new and old friends, safely, of course. Student Life will be resuming its on-campus programming this fall. On Wednesday, August 25, they will host their Welcome Back Bash. Be sure to check out their calendar regularly for event information.

COVID-19 On-Campus Resources

The College has put in place several measures to keep employees and students safe.

Face Coverings

Although masks are not required, the College strongly recommends using masks indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

Testing and Vaccines

COVID-19 testing and vaccination are available on each main campus until September 17. Learn more about hours and locations here.

Vaccine Incentives

The College is also offering a $250 vaccination incentive to all students and employees who choose to be vaccinated between August 16 and October 23, 2021. For this and other information on COVID-19, please visit our
