School District of Manatee County recently issued the following announcement.
The School Board members are redrawing the district boundaries for each of the five School Board seats.
The redrawing of district boundaries is necessary to help balance out the populations of each district based on U.S. Census data from 2020. According to that data, Manatee County added approximately 80,000 residents in the last 10 years.
Also, starting in 2022, School Board member elections will be contested in each individual district, not county-wide as in the past.
