State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota recently issued the following announcement.
Iconic wedding ceremony music will ring out through the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Neel Performing Arts Center as the
SCF Bradenton Symphony Orchestra presents “To Have and to Hold” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Building 11 East. General admission
tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at SCF.edu/Neel, while tickets for students and staff are $5 at the door.
The concert will include performances of Wagner’s “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” and “Bridal Chorus” from the opera “Lohengrin," Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March” from “A
Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” Schubert’s “Ave Maria” featuring SCF soprano Lylyana Brych, the overture from Mozart’s opera “The Marriage of
Figaro” and many more familiar wedding selections.
SCF offers a two-year associate degree music program that prepares students to pursue a four-year music degree at the university level. Additional opportunities exist for music
majors and non-music majors alike to participate in ensembles or private lessons.
