Men's Volleyball Drops First SIAC Contest at Central, State

Edward Waters College Athletics recently issued the following announcement.

In a matchup between the SIAC's top two teams, Edward Waters came up short, dropping a 3-1 decision road decision at Central State in a men's volleyball matchup at Beacom/Lewis Gym on Saturday afternoon.

Edward Waters (4-15, 2-1 SIAC) raced out to a 1-0 lead in the match with a 25-22 win in Set #1. The good times stopped for the Purple & Orange as the Tigers dropped the next three sets in succession to the Marauders (5-10, 4-0 SIAC) to give them their first blemish in conference play.

After hitting a robust .478 in the first set, Edward Waters could not find their offensive groove in the next three, ultimately hitting .211 for the match to .330 for CSU.

Kaelen Ingram led the Tigers with 12 kills, four digs, and one block assist. Evens Edouard chipped in with nine kills one service ace, six digs, and one solo block. Oneil Daley had a match high nine digs, while Kenyon Haynes dished out a match high 25 assists.

EWU will continue their road trip on Sunday, March 20th in another SIAC matchup against Fort Valley State at 3:00pm.
