SCF Sophomore Yeva Serdiuk Wins World Championship at Beach Volleyball U19 Competition

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) beach volleyball player Yeva Serdiuk won gold at the FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championship in September, pairing with fellow Ukrainian Daria Romaniuk to sweep seven consecutive matches in a dominant performance. The tournament was held in Dikili, Turkey.

Serdiuk and Ramaniuk dominated pool play and remained on top of their game through the medal rounds. The duo defeated teams from Germany and Brazil to advance to the quarterfinals, then dispatched both American pairs to secure the gold medal.

The world championship follows up a highly regarded freshman season for Serdiuk at SCF, including All-American recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). Serdiuk helped power SCF to its first AVCA Beach Volleyball national championship.

SCF competes in six varsity sports – women’s beach volleyball, indoor volleyball, softball and tennis, and men’s baseball and basketball. For more information, visit SCFManatees.com.
