State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) students will travel to Europe this May and June to explore historical locations and landmarks associated with the Holocaust as part of the college’s study abroad program. There is still time to enroll in the 13-day trip, spanning May 29-June 10, and flexible financing options are available to manage the cost of airfare, lodging, meal accommodations and fees. SCF students also have the option of registering for three credit hours during the Summer A 2023 term.
Led by Michael Rogers, SCF professor of history and politics, the group will tour the Berlin Wall, trace the escape route of Checkpoint Charlie and witness the sobering site of Auschwitz. The gravity of World War II becomes tangible while experiencing Jewish museums and cemeteries that immortalize the memory of millions. The trip concludes in Prague, known for its role in the Velvet Revolution and remarkable landmarks like the St. Vitus Cathedral and Prague Castle.
