Rep. Vern Buchanan, currently serving as a U.S. Congressman for Florida's 16th district, recently shared a series of tweets discussing his initiatives and statements on health issues affecting veterans and the nation. Buchanan, who holds significant positions as Vice Chairman of the Ways and Means GOP and Chair of the Health Subcommittee, has been active in addressing key health concerns.

On February 13, 2025, Rep. Buchanan tweeted about his statement regarding Robert Kennedy Jr.'s confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. In his post, he stated: "As Vice Chairman of @WaysandMeansGOP and Chair of the Health Subcommittee, I released the below statement on @RobertKennedyJr's confirmation as U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services ".

Later that day, Buchanan highlighted issues faced by veterans through another tweet. He wrote: "Our veterans are struggling." "Vets are more likely to suffer from chronic diseases" "In Florida, vets’ suicide rate is 2.6x higher than non-vets" "I introduced two bills with @RepGwenMoore and @RepGregMurphy to support vets’ physical and mental health." This indicates his legislative efforts alongside Reps Gwen Moore and Greg Murphy to address these challenges.

In another tweet on the same date, Rep. Buchanan mentioned collaborative efforts with President Biden and Robert Kennedy Jr., stating: ".@POTUS and @RobertKennedyJr are already getting to work to reverse chronic disease and combat the obesity epidemic." "It’s time to Make America Healthy Again." This reflects his focus on national health priorities under current administration policies.
