He stated “As a grandfather of 10 under 10, I’m deeply concerned by the rise in childhood obesity.” Emphasizing the importance of children’s health for the country’s future, he urged for increased efforts to promote healthy lifestyles among young Americans.

Later that day, Buchanan shared details about a legislative initiative known as “One Big, Beautiful Bill.” In his tweet from June 4 at 17:13 UTC, he outlined its objectives: “Americans support our One Big, Beautiful Bill because it delivers on the people’s mandate to: Secure the border Strengthen Medicaid Guarantee no tax on tips or overtime Increase the child tax credit”. Vern Buchanan was born in Detroit in 1951 and currently resides in Sarasota. A graduate from Cleary University and later from the University of Detroit Mercy with an MBA degree, he has been active in public service for decades.
