Rep. Vern Buchanan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, recently shared his insights on various critical issues via social media. Buchanan is known for engaging with constituents on political and legislative matters and has been an active voice in Congress replacing Katherine Harris 18 years ago.

On April 1, 2025, Buchanan expressed his enthusiasm about participating in the POLITICO Live Health Care Summit. He stated, “Excited to join the @POLITICOLive Health Care Summit tomorrow to discuss the future of the #MAHA agenda! Tune in at 8 a.m. #POLITICOHealth”. The event represents a platform for discussion about the Medical Advancement and Health Access agenda.

In a subsequent tweet dated April 2, 2025, Buchanan emphasized that “The President and the Speaker have made it clear: Medicare and Medicaid cuts are off the table.” He underscored the commitment to addressing waste, fraud, and abuse, emphasizing that inefficiencies could detract from resources intended for vulnerable communities.

Buchanan also voiced his support for extending tax cuts on April 2, 2025, noting the personal financial advantages these have brought to families. He commented, “Only days until #TaxDay! Extending the Trump tax cuts means more money in your pockets!” He elaborated that these policies have allowed families earning $67,000 or less to avoid federal income taxes.
