Rep. Vern Buchanan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district since 2007, recently took to social media to discuss healthcare initiatives and policies. Born in Detroit in 1951, Buchanan has been an active participant in legislative discussions concerning health care and preventive medicine.
On May 22, Buchanan shared his meeting with Dr. Patrick Hwu and Moffitt Cancer Center leadership, highlighting their focus on strengthening Medicare programs. He emphasized the importance of these programs in providing quality cancer care nationwide. “It was great meeting with @PatrickHwuMD and @MoffittNews leadership to discuss strengthening Medicare programs.”
Later that day, as Chair of the Health Subcommittee on Ways and Means GOP, he praised President Biden and Secretary Kennedy for releasing the MAHA report. He underscored the necessity of investing in preventive medicine to combat chronic diseases among future generations. “As Chair of the Health Subcommittee on @WaysandMeansGOP, I applaud @POTUS and @SecKennedy for their leadership in releasing today’s MAHA report.”
On May 23, Buchanan expressed his support for health promotion efforts at a White House event alongside notable figures such as Dr. Oz CMS and Dr. Mark Hyman. The event focused on advocating for wellbeing, prevention strategies, and practical solutions for Americans’ health issues.“Let’s Make America Healthy Again!”
