Rep. Vern Buchanan, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 16th district, shared several updates on his legislative initiatives and roles through social media posts on January 27, 2025.

In one post, Buchanan highlighted his introduction of the No Tax on Tips Act, emphasizing its alignment with former President Trump’s tax priorities. He stated that this initiative aims to support Floridians working in the tourism sector. “As @RichardRubinDC noted today, Congress must work with @POTUS to deliver on his tax priorities.” (January 27, 2025).

Buchanan also announced his appointment as Chairman of the bipartisan House Democracy Partnership for the 119th Congress. He expressed enthusiasm about continuing efforts to strengthen democratic institutions globally alongside critical allies. “Honored to be tapped as Chairman of the bipartisan House Democracy Partnership in the 119th Congress.” (January 27, 2025).

Additionally, Buchanan addressed economic challenges faced by performing artists in America by collaborating with Rep. Judy Chu on legislation intended to provide tax relief for these individuals nationwide. “An overwhelming majority of performing artists are lower and middle-class Americans struggling to make ends meet.” (January 27, 2025).
