Vern Buchanan, a U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 16th district, has shared several messages through his official social media account. A seasoned politician since 2007, Buchanan replaced Katherine Harris and has maintained his legislative focus on various issues.

In a message dated May 1, 2025, Buchanan commemorated the National Day of Prayer. He encouraged followers to “join me in prayer to reflect, give thanks and pray for our nation, our leaders and one another.” Quoting John 13:34, he emphasized love and unity: “Love one another. As I have loved you.”

Later that day, Buchanan addressed another national concern, urging for fiscal responsibility and animal welfare. His tweet stated, “It’s time to eliminate wasteful spending and ensure the humane treatment of America’s wild horses.” Expressing a commitment to work alongside Secretary Burgum, Buchanan aims to reform the Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse and Burro Program with solutions that are both humane and cost-effective.

Additionally, Buchanan extended his gratitude to military personnel, highlighting their significant role during the month of May. On May 1, 2025, he conveyed appreciation through a post, “In May, we honor the courage and sacrifice of our servicemembers and their families.” Buchanan thanked the servicemembers, acknowledging the continued efforts to “protect and defend our nation every day.”
