Edward Waters College Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
The Edward Waters women's volleyball squad extended their program best win mark to now 17 wins after their 3-1, (25-9, 21-25, 25-22, 25-21) road win over Savannah State on Wednesday evening at Tiger Arena.
EWU (17-7) came out on fire to start the match and despite a slip up in the second set, were able to respond in the third and fourth sets to earn victory in their regular season road finale.
The Lady Tigers for the match hit .153 and recorded 49 kills in the match. Savannah State (8-10) hit .074 and had 36 total kills.
Freshman Saldy Amparo Smith picked up another double-double with 18 kills and 12 digs in the match. Junior Arielly De Souza also racked up a double-double with 10 kills and 18 digs.
Senior Katarina Ribar racked up 35 assists and 15 digs in the match for Edward Waters. Senior Anyssa Guzman also had 20 digs for the Lady Tigers.
Edward Waters will begin their final four-game home stand next Monday, November 1st at 6:00pm against Savannah State at the Adams-Jenkins Community Sports & Music Complex.
