Vern Buchanan, a member of Congress representing Florida's 16th District, is actively using social media to communicate on issues ranging from national tax policies to housing affordability. Serving in the U.S. Congress since 2007, Buchanan's recent posts on X touch on crucial financial and personal themes.

On April 13, 2025, Vern Buchanan voiced concerns about the impermanence of the Trump tax cuts. In a tweet he stated, "Only days until #TaxDay! Failing to make the Trump tax cuts permanent will raise taxes on millions of working-classing Americans." He assured his followers that "@HouseGOP will prevent the largest tax hike in American history."

The same day, Buchanan extended a simple greeting for a religious observance in a tweet, "Happy Palm Sunday! "

Focusing on housing affordability on April 14, 2025, Buchanan addressed the issue of escalating housing prices. He emphasized, through a tweet, that with "housing prices skyrocketing, it’s our responsibility to make housing more accessible for low & middle-class families seeking to own a home." He announced new legislation aimed at making home ownership achievable for millions of Americans, referring to it as part of the "American Dream."

Buchanan has spent several decades in public service. Currently residing in Sarasota, the Detroit-born congressman holds degrees from both Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy. Since taking office in 2007, Buchanan has been an advocate for financial reform and accessibility in housing.
