Buchanan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress since replacing Katherine Harris in 2007, formerly served in the Florida House of Representatives and holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.
On April 11, Buchanan emphasized the impact of tax policy on lower-income earners, noting that " days until #TaxDay! As a result of the Trump tax cuts, the bottom 20% of earners saw their federal tax rate fall to its lowest level in 40 YEARS. Working families will benefit from making these cuts permanent." Buchanan, at age 71, was born in Detroit, Michigan, and currently resides in Sarasota. His educational background includes a BA from Cleary University and further studies at the University of Detroit Mercy.
