Rep. Vern Buchanan, representing Florida’s 16th district, utilized social media to discuss the implications of tax legislation and extend wishes for a religious occasion. In a series of tweets, Buchanan highlighted the benefits of tax policy changes and addressed cultural observances. Buchanan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress since replacing Katherine Harris in 2007, formerly served in the Florida House of Representatives and holds degrees from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy.

On April 11, Buchanan emphasized the impact of tax policy on lower-income earners, noting that " days until #TaxDay! As a result of the Trump tax cuts, the bottom 20% of earners saw their federal tax rate fall to its lowest level in 40 YEARS. Working families will benefit from making these cuts permanent." In a subsequent post on April 12, he addressed political claims about the effects of tax cuts. He stated, "#TaxDay is in days! Dems who claim that 'tax cuts only benefit the wealthy' are lying to your face. As a result of the Trump tax cuts, the bottom 50% of earners paid LESS income taxes than ever before." Read more.

Buchanan, at age 71, was born in Detroit, Michigan, and currently resides in Sarasota. His educational background includes a BA from Cleary University and further studies at the University of Detroit Mercy.
