Rep. Vern Buchanan, representing Florida’s 16th district in the U.S. Congress since 2007, recently shared his thoughts on his Twitter account about various issues including American manufacturing, healthcare, and tax policy. Born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1951, Buchanan graduated from Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy. He now resides in Sarasota, Florida.

On April 15, 2025, Rep. Buchanan commented on Nvidia’s recent announcement, stating "Nvidia’s announcement is PROOF that American manufacturing is making its comeback, thanks to President Trump’s leadership."

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, he discussed the healthcare sector, emphasizing a focus on nutrition. He noted, "Our doctors write thousands of prescriptions for drugs but fail to focus on the value of healthy food. Dr. Pratt’s recall of Ben Franklin’s quote was spot-on: ‘An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.’ To #MakeAmericaHealthyAgain, we must look to food as medicine."

Later that day, Buchanan turned his attention to tax policy, marking the significance of the tax deadline. He stated, "Today is #TaxDay! Republicans are fighting to lower taxes for millions of Americans by extending the successful Trump tax cuts."

Rep. Buchanan continues to be active in legislative discussions, providing commentary on key policy areas such as economics, healthcare, and taxation.

Vern Buchanan has served in the U.S. Congress, representing Florida's 16th District, since 2007. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives.
