EDWARD WATERS COLLEGE TIGER SCHOLAR PHOTOGRAPHY FEATURED AT THE JACKSONVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Meet Edward Waters College Sophomore, Mr. Amari Leath a Communications Scholar from the MAGICAL city of Orlando Florida. Mr. Leath, currently serves as the Public Relations and Marketing Chair for the EWC Tiger Nation Campus Activities Board. Mr. Leath is thriving in his photography journey and his work is currently being featured at the Jacksonville International airport and you can view some of his work below.
An Interview with Tiger Scholar, Mr. Amari Leath:
How did you get into photography? Throughout his upbringing Mr. Leath found joy in photography and enjoyed playing with cameras. According to Mr. Leath, “Since I was young, I always liked to play with cameras. My mom was a photographer and she had a film camera that I would always take and look through the viewfinder.” However, it was not until the summer of 2017 that he discovered his passion for being a photographer. While on a family vacation, he became the family photographer and captured the experience with his Kodak Easy Camera. Mr. Leath states, “ I switched the camera into manual mode and I feel in love with how I could control how the images looked. I never stopped after that.”
What are your plans post Edward Waters College? Upon graduation from Edward Waters College, Mr. Leath plans to continue his passion as a photojournalist for a news outlet, with career aspirations of working for Time or Life Magazine.
