Rep. Vern Buchanan, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 16th district, recently shared a series of tweets addressing healthcare initiatives and international issues. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Buchanan has been a member of Congress since 2007 after succeeding Katherine Harris.

On February 19, 2025, Rep. Buchanan tweeted about the introduction of two bipartisan bills aimed at enhancing healthcare accessibility. He stated: "Americans in need of timely care need flexible health care options to improve their health. To achieve this goal, I introduced two bipartisan bills to expand access to telehealth and cut bureaucratic red tape hindering lung cancer screenings."

On February 20, 2025, Buchanan expressed gratitude towards Moffitt News following his visit to their new facility in Ruskin. In his tweet, he mentioned: "Thank you to @MoffittNews for hosting me for a tour of their state-of-the-art new facility in Ruskin, where we discussed the critical work they’re doing to beat cancer. We’re very fortunate to have such a world-class cancer hospital providing lifesaving care in our own backyard."

On February 21, 2025, Rep. Buchanan addressed an international issue involving Hamas through his Twitter account. He remarked on the situation with strong words: "Absolute depravity. Hamas paraded the bodies of Kfir and Ariel Bibas—just 9 months and 4 years old—through the streets alongside the bodies of two other hostages. Hamas must release every hostage NOW or face the wrath of the United States."
