Rep. Vern Buchanan, who represents Florida’s 16th district in the U.S. Congress, recently shared his views on several legislative matters via social media posts. Buchanan has been serving in Congress since 2007 after succeeding Katherine Harris and has previously served in the Florida House of Representatives. Here are his latest statements captured from his recent tweets.

On March 31, 2025, Buchanan commented on the No Rogue Rulings Act, which he described as "just common-sense." He referenced a 2023 brief submitted by 240 Democrats, including Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, regarding "perilous consequences" from a district judge's nationwide ruling. Buchanan questioned, "I wonder how many of them will vote to end this practice they hate."

On April 1, 2025, Buchanan expressed his support for easier tax filing, especially for those recovering from natural disasters. He communicated his pride in voting for the Filing Relief for Natural Disasters Act, which proposes to allow the IRS to delay tax deadlines for citizens in state-declared disaster areas.

Later that same day, Buchanan highlighted the importance of extending the Trump tax cuts in a countdown to Tax Day. He mentioned that extending the cuts would enable middle-class Americans to retain more of their earnings. He warned that a failure to extend would result in a $1,695 tax increase for a family of four earning $80,610, urging protection for middle-class families.
