State College of Florida-Manatee issued the following announcement.
State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota’s (SCF) Communications and Marketing (CAM) department has received 11 awards from the Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) Communications and Marketing Commission (CMC). The department brought home nine gold medals, one silver and one bronze.
Gold medals were awarded for both the print advertisement and video collateral of a “Life-Changing Letters” fundraising campaign, the “Mirror into the Future” print ad campaign, as well as a 2019 Scholarship Luncheon fundraising video, all supporting the SCF Foundation. A direct mail campaign for SCF’s 2020 enrollment, including “It” and “Sign of the Manatee” horoscope postcards, a transfer student “Welcome Home” postcard, a bachelor’s degree newspaper ad and a flyer advertising “Maverick’s Rhythm and Rave” also earned top honors. A collaborative project with SCF’s Art, Design and Humanities department for the “2020-2021 Student Handbook and Planner,” with cover art designed by SCF student Punch Pawares Rueangaram, also earned gold.
The silver medal was awarded to the overall 2019 Scholarship Luncheon print campaign and a bronze to SCF’s 2018 Annual Report.
CAM staff who had a role in the winning projects include Jamie Smith, director; Nate March, marketing manager; Mace Thirtle, lead graphic designer; Mitchell Hoeft, graphic designer; Amarin Cannon, digital communications coordinator; Justin Duplain, webmaster; Marci Shantz, former assistant director; Samantha Dyer, former graphic designer; Sarah Sands, former marketing manager; and Jim Dela, former communications and production coordinator.
“The CAM team’s creativity and execution was duly recognized with these 11 awards,” said Smith. “The award-winning projects represent pieces with documented success driving enrollment, increasing donations and communicating effectively to students, alumni, faculty, staff and the community.”
