Aquatic Center poised for more Summer Excitement

15

After an unprecedented demand for opening weekend access, Manatee County Parks and Natural Resources leaders are excited to announce the initial operating hours of the Lincoln Aquatic Center.

While the free soft-opening event over the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend is already full, beginning Tuesday, May 31, the brand-new swim, splash and slide zone at Lincoln Park—located at 715 17th St E., in Palmetto—will host open swim sessions from Noon to 4 p.m. daily. There is one exception: Due to the extra staffing and preparations during the opening weekend, the facility will be CLOSED Friday, June 3, 2022. Following that, the complex is scheduled to be open daily through the end of the month.

Admission to the facility is $2 per person per session. Children under 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

“We are happy to see so many people sign up for the test-splash Memorial Day weekend,” said Parks and Natural Resources Director Charlie Hunsicker. “Moving forward, the ongoing operations will be our focus.”

To maintain that focus—and full facility—Manatee County is hiring Lifeguards! Lifeguarding jobs offer competitive pay (starting at $18.40/hour) and excellent experience.

Free lifeguard training to become certified is offered to applicants who are able to commit to working three or more months with Manatee County Aquatics.
