Following the completion of another season, the vendors of the Coquina Market are taking a break—returning this November.
Artisans and other vendors will be back along the Coquina Beach South promenade, once again, when the 2022-23 season opens in November as oversight for the market shifts to Manatee County.
“This is a county asset,” said Manatee County Administrator Scott Hopes. “Bringing the market under the guidance and coordination of our Convention and Visitors Bureau will ensure it continues to engage some of our area’s premier artisans while allowing visitors outstanding buying opportunities.”
“With this new set-up, Manatee County taxpayers will no longer be subsidizing the beach market,” said Manatee County Commission Chair Kevin Van Ostenbridge. “I look forward to the CVB helping to enhance and make the market even better than ever.”
Further details on operational changes and enhancements will be forthcoming as staff prepares for the upcoming season.
