Rep. Vern Buchanan, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 16th district since 2007, has been vocal on social media, sharing insights on recent policy developments and governmental efforts. While continuing his legislative duties, Buchanan addressed a series of pertinent topics through a series of tweets.

On April 9, 2025, Rep. Buchanan commented on the President's international diplomatic efforts, stating, ".@POTUS took decisive action to bring other countries to the negotiating table. Talk is cheap. He meant business, and the world listened. He knows that on a level playing field, American workers will WIN. " This tweet underscores his support for the President's strategy in enhancing global negotiations favorable to American labor.

Later the same day, Buchanan emphasized the importance of resilience planning following natural disasters, asserting that "Florida and the federal govt. must support families and businesses still recovering from last year's hurricanes while preparing for future disasters. Thank you to our delegation and witnesses for joining today's hearing to discuss recovery and resiliency." This reflects his commitment to addressing ongoing recovery and future preparedness in light of the challenges posed by hurricanes.

On April 10, Buchanan turned his attention to fiscal policy, celebrating a recent legislative approval by stating, ".@HouseGOP passed the Republican budget. Now, as Vice Chair of @WaysandMeansGOP, I’m committed to making tax cuts permanent for millions of Americans and locking in @POTUS’s agenda. Full steam ahead." Here, he underscores his determination to solidify tax policies and advance the President's objectives in his role as Vice Chair of the Ways and Means Committee.

Vern Buchanan has demonstrated a vast and experienced political career, having moved to Florida after being born in Detroit, attending Cleary University and the University of Detroit Mercy, and serving in the Florida House of Representatives before Congress.
